Nigeria and Senegal will have the most number of participants in this year’s Basketball Without Borders African event Basketballghana.com can confirm.
The annual event which brings together talented young players on the continent to receive life and basketball lessons from top players and executives in basketball has 60 Boys and Girls aged under 17 ready to participate in the 2019 edition.
The Camp runs from July 28 to July 31 in Senegal and has the likes of two time NBA Champions Chris Bosh, multiple NBA All Star Joel Embiid and former NBA Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon headlining the event.
Nigeria and Senegal have four representatives each in the Boys Division but Senegal edged out Nigeria four to three in the number of participants in the Girls Division.
Like 2017, Ghana has a sole rep in the Boys Division in Muazibini Jamal Adamu. Kitson Quashie represented Ghana previously at the camp.
BWB has served as the starting point of professional careers in the sport for several participants including Embiid and reigning NBA Champion and Sixth Man of the Year Pascal Siakam.
