The final game of the 2019 FIBA AfroCan Basketball Tournament will take place later tonight in Bamako, Mali between Kenya and Democratic Republic of Congo at 18:30 GMT.

Tonight’s is the first in the history of the newly created competition for African players plying their trade on the continent. Each participant had two slots available for foreign based players.

Congo is the only nation in the tournament that is yet to lose a game while Kenya leads the competition in three pointers made in its remarkable run.

DR Congo beat title favorites Angola 84-78 while Kenya stunned Morocco with a heavy 96-66 win in the semifinals respectively to progress to the final.

The maiden edition of the competition commenced on Friday, July 19 and has generated a lot of buzz; 12 nations participated in the tournament.

Kenya’s anticipated matchup against Congo is one of two games lined up tonight as Morocco plays Angola at 16:00 GMT for third place.

Tunisia and host Mali were victors in classification games played last night.
