Center Romeo Enan produced his best performance in the 2019 FIBA AfroCan but that was not enough to save Ivory Coast from elimination.
The tournament created for African based players commenced on Friday, July 19 in Bamako, Mali and is expected to end on Sunday, July 28.
However, Ivory Coast won’t get the chance to compete deep into the competition after falling 83-85 to Kenya in the Round of 16 stage.
Former Accra Basketball League (ABL) standout Enan produced 20 points, five rebounds and an assist in 30 minutes as the starting 5.
Despite having a slow start against Algeria, Enan produced seven points, 11 rebounds and two steals in just 14 minutes in another losing effort against Mali.
Ivory Coast had just two players aside Enan score in double digits with Michael Kouadio registering 20 points. Aristide Otto scored 10 points.
In three games, Enan-the Dalia Sportive Grombalia player-averaged 11 points, 6.5 bounds a steal and 21 minutes. Kenya moves on to the quarterfinals to take on Tunisia.
