Nungua Coldstore will stay in first place of the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League heading to the second round of the ongoing campaign.

The team’s 64-33 win over Teshie Rangers ensured the team remains at the apex of the 12 team standings at the end of its run in the first half of the tournament.

Last season’s champions finished with 10 wins in 11 games with its sole loss coming against 2018 finalist Tema Heat. Heat beat Nungua 46-41.

With four teams set to play the final round of the first half, Coldstore’s 21 point tally is enough to keep them in first place.

In second place, Tema Community 2’s one point lead over Tema Community 4 is under serious threat since the latter team will feature on Sunday, July 28.

C4 climbed to third place after grabbing a 42-32 win over Tema Rockets to move to 17 points; another win puts the 2017 champions in second place.

Heat’s 37-35 win over Francophone Stars in the past round moved the team to fourth place. Below is a full breakdown of the standings:
