University of Ghana (UG) occupies top spot at the end of the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II first round.
UG’s late start to the competition proved not to be a drawback on the team’s ability to compete as the tertiary side put up an eight game winning run.
Clinching top spot was confirmed in the division played on Saturday, July 20 at the Prisons Court in Cantonments where UG recorded a 66-42 win over Junior Reformers.
UG missed the first month of play due to administrative reasons but set the tone for a wonderful run by beating Ghana Air Force 54-47 in its debut game.
Thanks to the unbeaten record, UG sits in first place with 16 points and holds a one point advantage over Air Force who rank second with seven wins in eight appearances.
Dunk Knights and Tudu Galaxy occupy the last spots in the standings after picking up two wins and just a win respectively in the first round. Below is a full breakdown of the standings:
