Former Braves of Customs Center Romeo Enan improved on his debut performance for Ivory Coast in the AfroCan Tournament but his performance proved insufficient to prevent his nation from losing for the second time in as many games.

Ivory Coast lost 75-85 to Algeria in its first game and fell 63-86 to host nation Mali; the win was Mali’s second and moved the team to the quarterfinal stage.

After scoring six points and gathering four rebounds in 17 minutes against Algeria, Enan produced seven points, 11 rebounds and two steals in 14 minutes against Mali.

Ivory Coast is set to play against Kenya on Tuesday, July 23. There are no games scheduled for today as the tournament observes a rest day.

Enan won the Tertiary Player of the Year Award in 2015 at the Ghana Basketball Awards and multiple titles with Braves in the Accra Basketball League.

Aside Mali, Angola, DR Congo and Tunisia have qualified to the quarterfinals. Angola beat Morocco 68-58, Tunisia beat Egypt 75-68 and Congo beat Nigeria 81-55.
