Akatsi Rifles lost its penultimate game in the first round of the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League after falling to Tema Community 4 over this past weekend.
Rifles lost 27-54 to C4 after being on the receiving end of a host of three point shots from the home side particularly in the final quarter.
C4 Guards Brian Kwami and Ernest Kojo Ofori hit multiple three point shots to down Rifles who struggled to generate offense in the quarter bar an Emmanuel Mensah layup.
The loss is Rifles sixth in ten games in the round and keeps the team one spot above bottom ranked Teshie Rangers who play later this weekend.
Rifles form heading to the end of the first half of the season is a far cry from the form it had in the earlier rounds when the team recorded three straight wins.
After placing fourth in the BetWay Hoops Tournament prior to the start of the season, Rifles rank 11th in the 12 team standings with 14 points.
