Former Accra Basketball League (ABL) standout Romeo Wilfred Enan has been named in Ivory Coast’s roster for the upcoming FIBA AfroCan tournament.

The competition is eligible to players competing in respective national leagues runs from July 19 to July 28 in Mali’s capital, Bamako. However, each nation has two slots for foreign based players.

Ivory Coast is one of 12 nations competing in the maiden edition of the competition. Other nations set to feature in the tournament include Angola, Morocco, Nigeria and Chad.

Enan was named in the 15 man roster and the Elephants commenced training earlier this week with title ambitions in their sight.

The 6 foot 10 inch Center has competed in the Tunisian League for the past two seasons including a run with Dalia Sportive Grombalia after stints in Nigeria with Kano Pillars and Kwara Eagles.

He last represented Ivory Coast at the 2017 African Basketball Championship (AfroBasket). Enan starred in the ABL with Braves of Customs and the UPAC Championship with Accra Technical University (ATU).

He won the 2015 Tertiary Player of the Year prize at the Ghana Basketball Awards. Below is the full list of players called up to the national team:
