Brooklyn Nets have missed out on a place in the finals of this year’s NBA Summer League after losing 77-85 to Minnesota Timberwolves earlier this morning.
Ghana Center Amida Brimah was impressive putting up 12 points and 10 rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench. Starting Center Jarrett Allen also registered a double double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
The 6 foot 11 inch defender led the game in blocked shots as he rejected four shots from the Timberwolves. This marked the most points and rebounds registered by the Ghana international.
Brimah recorded four blocks in consecutive games after dishing out the same strong defensive play in Brooklyn’s shock win over Detroit Pistons in the quarterfinals.
In his third run in the Summer League, Brimah impressed in limited action as backup to Allen. His performances should make him a strong contender to make the final cut for the upcoming season.
Minnesota will compete in the finals against Memphis Grizzlies after Grizzlies recorded an 88-86 win over New Orleans Pelicans.
