Kawukudi Warriors have ended Reformers of Prisons winning streak in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I after grabbing a win at the expense of Reformers.

Warriors recorded a 63-58 win over Reformers at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in the last of three games played on Saturday, July 13.

In a turnover filled first quarter, the score was tied at 6 with Amos Ollenu and Aziz Mohammed scoring for Warriors and Reformers respectively.

Ernest Kojo Ofori assisted two baskets including a long pass for Sylvester Asirifie to finish with a layup. Arafat Salam drilled a three point shot with Philip Barley and Mohammed adding layups in a frantic second quarter that had Reformers lead 29-22 with 3:34 left in the quarter.

Mawusi Kalla delivered a big block on Salam but Salam responded with a three pointer to give Reformers a 28-26 first half win.

Warriors Guards Ofori and Ollenu got hot from three point range to give Kawukudi a 47-42 third quarter lead. Ofori drilled a trio of deep shots but Reformers went on a 4-0 run to end the quarter with Barley slamming the ball.

With 1:47 remaining score was tied at 58. Ofori completed a three point play late in the game to give Warriors a 63-58 win.
