Ivory Coast is one of five African nations set to compete in the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China from August 31 to September 15.

Following Nigeria and Tunisia, Ivory Coast has announced its roster for preliminary preparations for the World Cup. 19 players have been called up.

The Elephants progressed to the World Cup for the first time since 2010 after winning seven of 12 games including a three game winning run.

The team will camp today in Abidjan ahead of friendly games against the likes of Spain and Italy prior to the start of the competition.

Ivory Coast is in Group A against host China, Venezuela and Poland and the group has been described as a very open for any country to progress.

Veterans Landry Guy Edi and Souleymane Diabate headlined the roster that included veteran American Power Forward Deon Thompson.

Thompson recently acquired his Ivorian passport and last played for North Carolina University in 2010 before spending his career in Europe. Last season he played for Zalgikis in Lithuania and helped them win the league title. He has signed for Unicaja Malaga to play in Spain. Below is the full list of played called up:
