Nungua Coldstore has lost for the first time in the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League after falling 41-46 to Tema Heat over the past weekend.

The big matchup featuring last season’s finalists ended with Heat revenging the 1-2 series loss to Nungua in the 2018 final at the Tema Community 4 Court.

Prior to the game, Nungua had won all nine games played this season but came out of the fixture unstuck as Heat clinched the huge five point win.

Coldstore maintains its lead atop the standings but the loss and a win for Tema Community 2 means Nungua’s lead has whittled to two.

Community 2 beat Tema Wildcats 39-23 for its third straight win and closes down the gap on defending league champions Coldstore.

In other games played on Sunday, Sakumono Titans lost 38-57 to Spintex Knights in the clash of the league debutants. The loss is Titans fourth in 11 games.

Home side Community 4 beat Teshie Rangers 57-38.
