Teshie Vikings is the first team to reach the half way point in the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League after playing 11 games in the ongoing competition.
Vikings have made 11 appearances in the 12 team competition and has four wins and seven losses to show for its efforts.
The team has accumulated 15 points as a result and lies third in the standings. Vikings beat Akatsi Rifles 39-36 in the last round of games played at the Tema Community 4 Court.
Despite Vikings high rank, the team is in danger of slipping further down the standings since a host of teams have played far fewer games.
Teshie played in last season’s playoffs but got off to a terrible start losing four straight games to the likes of defending league champions Nungua Coldstore.
The team is headed towards a long layoff as other teams play catch up in game appearance; Tema Community 4 and Teshie Rangers have played seven games apiece.
The lengthy break gives Vikings a lot of time to get their act together for an improved second half performance in the season.
