Ghana Center Amida Brimah’s third run in the NBA Summer League commences tonight as his Brooklyn Nets side take on Dallas Mavericks.
The 2019 edition of the preseason competition mainly starts later this evening in Las Vegas; minor competitions were held earlier this week.
Amida takes to the court with a difficult task ahead to make the roster after Brooklyn recently signed veteran Center DeAndre Jordan. Nets drafted Nicolas Claxton and have third year shot blocker Jarrett Allen on its roster.
After Dallas, Brooklyn plays against a select side from Croatia on Sunday, July 4 before playing Washington Wizards and Orlando Magic on July 8 and 10 respectively.
This is set to be Brimah’s third act in the Summer League after playing for Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs. Brimah was the second Ghana born player to suit up for Spurs in the tournament after Ben Bentil played for San Antonio in 2017.
He has spent a bulk of his professional career in the NBA Gatorade League and averaged 8.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocks last season.
