The Logo for the 2020 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games has been officially unveiled with the competition seven months away.
Next year’s multi sport competition is scheduled to be held at the University of Ghana (UG) after the 2018 edition took place at University of Development Studies (UDS) Tamale Campus.
The logo features the famous UG tower with nine black stars surrounding a silhouette of a sprinter cast in the colours of Ghana’s national flag.
The official launch of the games was held at the University in mid June with UG Director of Sports Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu in attendance.
The official mascot (an eagle called Nileygon) for the games has also been adorned for the games slated for mid January in 2020.
UG’s best chance of winning a medal at home lies with the basketball teams. The Male side has dominated the division since 2016 and clinched gold twice on the international stage via the Africa University Games.
After winning silver in Tamale, UG’s Female Team is competing in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) to sharpen its skills ahead of January.
