After losing five straight games, University of Ghana (UG) ended its losing run in Week 13 of the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division.
The tertiary side sealed a 30-28 win over Tudu Galaxy in a fixture played on Thursday, June 27 at the Prisons Court in Cantonment.
The go ahead basket came via a three point shot with time expiring to clinch UG’s first win on its return to the elite division.
Despite recording huge losses against power house clubs in the league-Ghana Police Service and Braves of Customs-the team has competed well in games.
However, their efforts were rewarded this time around with a win that condemned Galaxy to the bottom spot in the standings. Galaxy is winless in six games.
In the Men’s Division I game played between Adenta Leopards and Police, Leopards recorded a 63-54 win to get back to winning ways after poor results in recent appearances.
After conceding 61 points in a losing effort to defending champions Braves, Police couldn’t bounce back from the loss. Three games are to be honoured later tonight at the same venue.
