Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate Ghana Small Forward Ben Bentil is attracting strong interest from Greece A1 Basketball League side Panathinaikos.
According to EuroHoops, the 24 year old Forward who can play at Power Forward, has emerged as an important target following the departure of Peristeri GS Coach Argiris Pedoulakis.
Pedoulakis has since been appointed as Coach of the 2018-2019 League champions following the departure of Rick Pitino.
Bentil and Pedoulakis formed a strong partnership that led Peristeri to place fourth in the just ended season.
Under the former Greek International Shooting Guard Pedoulakis, Bentil had his best and most consistent season as a pro.
In 35 games, the 24 year old Combo Forward averaged 12.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and an assist in his first year in the Greek top flight.
Despite signing a deal to extend his stay at Peristeri, Bentil could line up for Panathinaikos next season due to the buyout clause in his deal.
Should Panathinaikos succeed, Bentil will compete in the Euroleague next season.
Bentil is the first Ghana born player to play in the NBA after his stint at Dallas Mavericks.
