Ghana born France International Shooting Guard Billy Yakuba Ouatarra has missed out on annexing the French Pro A league title.
The Shooting Guard’s Monaco side lost 55-66 to ASVEL in Game 5 of the Finals Series despite leading 35-27 after the first half.
A strong third quarter from ASVEL turned the tide around. Multiple players including former first round draft pick Adreian Payne hit three point shots for a 24-3 run.
Ouatarra’s subdued performance in the Finals Series continued as he scored four points in Game 5. His highest mark in the series was an 11 point performance in a 97-62 win for Monaco in Game 3.
In 37 games in the regular season, Ouatarra registered an average of 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 25.5 minutes.
His dynamic play earned him a spot in the reserve list of France’s 2019 World Cup roster alongside Boston Celtics Forward Gershon Yabusele.
Ouatarra had multiple double digit scoring performances in the playoffs. The 27 year old Guard was born in Tepa.
