Ghana Forward Ben Bentil has stated he is happy to stay with Persiteri GS after extending his contract for a year with the Greek side.

Bentil and Peristeri agreed on the extension just before the team missed out on third place in the Greece A1 Basketball League earlier this month.

24 year old Bentil is the first Ghana born player to play in the NBA after his short stint with Dallas Mavericks following his selection in the 2016 Draft by Boston Celtics.

Having bounced around in his professional career, the Sekondi native who also plays Power Forward settled nicely at Peristeri and has given the clearest indication to stay longer.

“I’m very happy to continue offering my services at Peristeri. We have a lot of work to do. The team will also have European matches and we must continue to work hard to get even higher” Bentil said in an interview per EuroHoops.

In 35 games, the former Providence College star averaged 12.5 points and 6.6 rebounds in his first season in Greece.
