Ghana’s Senior National 3×3 Basketball Team will battle fellow West African nations in the preliminary stage of the 2019 African Beach Games.

The continental Beach Games (SAL) got underway on Monday, June 14 and is due to end on Sunday, June 23 in Cape Verde.

Ghana is featuring in the Men’s Division of the world’s most popular urban sport at the competition and will face familiar opponents in the first round of the tournament.

Host nation Cape Verde, Mali and Ivory Coast make up the list of opponents for Ghana in Pool A while Pool B of the eight team list of nations varies vastly.

Algeria, Djibouti, Togo and Congo have been drawn in Pool B with the top two ranked nations expected to progress to the next round.

Preliminary games are scheduled to end on Saturday, June 22 with Mali and Ivory Coast set to face off. Ghana plays Mali in the first Pool A game today.

This is the maiden edition of the Beach Games.
