Temple University Men’s Basketball Team has officially bid farewell to Ghana Forward Ernest Aflakpui and two other members on the team.

Aflakpui, Point Guard Shizz Alston Jnr. and Head Coach Fran Dunphy left the program recently after the 2018-2019 College Basketball season came to a close.

For the first time since 2016, The Owls competed in the NCAA Tournament-College Basketball postseason- earlier this year.

Thanks to the trio, Temple made it to the competition but bowed out early following a loss to Belmont University. Aflakpui and Alston Jnr. have graduated from the University while Dunphy was replaced by former Philadelphia Sixers player Aaron McKie.

The team officially stated “Coach Dunphy, Shizz Alston Jr. and Ernest Aflakpui… Thank you doesn’t feel like enough. You’ve all worn the Cherry and White with pride each and every day of your careers. Grateful for everything you’ve given us”.

Alston Jnr. and Aflakpui are working out for teams ahead of this year’s NBA Draft on Thursday, June 20. In his final season, Aflakpui averaged 5.9 points and 7.1 rebounds.
