Ghanaian-Italian international Small Forward Awudu Abass is attracting major interest from Olimpia Milano in the Italian Basketball League per reports reaching Basketballghana.com
According to Sportando, the 26 year old Forward who can also play as a Shooting Guard, has impressed his former club a year after signing with Germani Brescia.
Despite missing the playoffs after Brescia placed 12th in the league standings, Abass averaged 13.9 points and 4.6 rebounds in 30 games in his debut season with the club.
The 6 foot 7 inch player won the league title with Milano before signing a two year deal but could opt of the deal’s second year to facilitate the move.
Milano recently hired long term San Antonio Spurs Assistant Coach Ettore Mesina as Head Coach with the veteran tactician viewed as a big fan of Abass.
Abass is in line to feature at this year’s World Cup in China from August 31-September 15 with Italy after playing a key role to end Italy’s 13 year wait. He was born in Italy to a Ghanaian father.
