Basketballghana.com can confirm members of Ghana’s National Male 3×3 Basketball Team have departed the country.

This took place earlier today at the Kotoka International Airport with all four members joining other athletes due to represent the nation at the first ever African Beach Games in Cape Verde.

Members of Ghana’s entourage for the multi sport games took turns to make the journey to the West African island nation with today’s group being the last batch.

The competition which commenced on Friday, June 14 is the first on the continent and has competitors from 54 African nations competing in 11 disciplines including 3×3 Basketball.

The miniature version of basketball is a growing phenomenon that has gain enormous popularity and has been added to disciplines at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Ghana’s Teams-Male and Female- have caught on with 3×3 Basketball and qualified to compete in last continental games in Togo.

Prior to the team’s departure, Captain Benjamin Debrah was optimistic of solid performances from the group. The team is expected to arrive in Cape Verde on Tuesday, June 18.
