The Madina Community Basketball League is heading to the final stages of the postseason following the conclusion of first round games at the semifinal stages.
Host University of Professional Studies (UPSA) has taken a 1-0 lead in the best of three games series against Lakeside Club.
UPSA won via a 64-61 result after number one seeded Ridge Babies had a straight forward 58-38 win over Madina Raptors.
Both games were played this past weekend at UPSA’s Court and the second games are due to be played on Sunday, June 16 at the same venue.
Should second seed UPSA or Ridge clinch wins this weekend they will play in the final series of the maiden community league.
League coordinator Samuel Kofi Gyimah has noted the positive impressions he has had from observing proceedings over the past couple of months.
The maiden edition had six teams compete in the regular season with the top four progressing to the playoffs. The league is one three operating in Ghana’s Greater Accra Region.
