In the aftermath of the 201-2019 GSP Basketball League that was won by Young Boys Basketball Club, Public Relations Officer of the League, Daniel Addo has spoken out against club sides LIR Royals and Catholic University College (CUCG) Saints.

In an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com, Addo pointed out the reason behind Saints and LIR’s low marks in the just ended league.

He said, “CUCG and LIR were not attending most games so management eliminated them from the league”. Saints were due to play Royals in the final round but the game was cancelled.

CUCG and LIR frequently forfeited games by failing to show up for games leading both to occupy the bottom spots in the 10 team standings.

Royals finished in last place with nine points and Saints finished a spot above with 11 points with neither side winning five games this season.

In 17 games, Young Boys won 15 and lost twice to clinch the league title in its debut season; the team was made up of a host of players with experience competing in the league including former MVP Robert Brew.

Young Boys David Ziem won this year’s MVP Award.
