Tema Rockets felt hard done by a 35-40 loss to Tema Community 2 in the previous round but together a solid performance to get back in the win column.

Rockets beat Tema Heat 43-31 after experiencing a slow start before clicking into gear especially from three point range to get past the inconsistent Heat side.

Rockets recovered from a 4-7 first quarter deficit to take a 16-12 second quarter lead off a flurry of three pointers. Philip Amralo, Daniel Otu Laryea and Ebenezer Borsah converted from deep as Rockets took control of the game.

Heat got on the board as Andrews Ayienab buried a mid range shot and Fred Yeboah added a three point from the top of the key.

Jibril Musa went on a scoring run hiting a variety of shots to give Rockets a 27-20 lead. However, Yeboah’s three pointer cut Heat’s deficit to four (23-27) close to the end of the quarter. Musa finished off a fast break to end the quarter with Rockets leading 29-23.

McMartey Laweh scored to extend Rockets lead early in the fourth quarter. Heat big men Yeboah and Prosper Dorsu scored making the score Heat 31-34; Amralo’s layup bumped Rockets score to 36.

Evans Amartey buried a pair of three pointers and set up a beautiful alley oop for Otu Laryea’s layup for Rockets to clinch a 43-31 win.
