Four games, four winners. That was the story following the conclusion of games in the Tema Community Basketball League earlier tonight.
The exciting games had Spintex Knights clinch the first win of the day courtesy a 35-25 win over the free falling Francophone Stars in the opening game.
The loss is Stars third in four games and after a very good start to the season, last season’s surprise package is reeling close to the season’s midpoint.
Tema Heat took a 7-4 first quarter lead but couldn’t hold on for long as Tema Rockets recovered to win the remaining quarters and seal a 43-31 win.
Top execution from deep, propelled Rockets past Heat with the likes of Evans Amartey, Philip Amralo, Ebenezer Borsah and Daniel Otu Laryea getting in on the act.
Home side Tema Community 4 was given a big scare by Sakumono Titans but had enough in the tank to ride out the storm and clinch a 44-39 win.
C4 trailed for three straight quarters before an epic 12 point run gave them the lead and wrapped up the game as Titans fell apart down the stretch.
The final game had defending champions Nungua Coldstore stutter several times in a pulsating game to record a 38-32 win over Tema Wildcats.
In the lead up to the game, Coldstore planned to match Wildcats youthfulness by fielding members of its Under 19 side Nungua Youngings.
However, Wildcats stayed close to Coldstore who reached into the “experience” archives to pull off the win. Below are the results recorded earlier today:
Spintex Knights 35-25 Francophone Stars
Tema Heat 31-43 Tema Rockets
Sakumono Titans 39-44 Tema Community 4
Nungua Coldstore 38-32 Tema Wildcats
