Vikings made it two wins in two games in the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League after grabbing a tough win over Francophone Stars at the Tema Community 4 Court over the weekend.
Vikings clinched a 36-29 win over Francophone Stars for its second win of the season; Vikings stunned Spintex Knights via a 43-42 win.
After a poor start, Vikings David Sam drained a pair of three pointers and set up Emmanuel Kotei for a layup on a fastbreak. Edem Franklin scored during the run giving Vikings a 12-10 first quarter lead.
Sam scored another three pointer and got fouled while taking the shot but missed the ensuing free throw attempt. Vikings Arnold Dzanie blocked Cedric Nambai and gathered a pass from Kotei to score.
Francophone ended the quarter on a high after scoring four straight points including two points from Emmanuel Osei. The team trailed 14-19.
Vikings Nicholson Nartey drained a three pointer and Ekow Abaidoo early on but Francophone went on another strong run to close the quarter trailing 25-29.
