Tudu Galaxy’s Male Junior side was in action in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II immediately after its Female side lost to Ghana Police Service at the Prisons Court in Cantonments on Saturday, June 1.
The Division II matchup had Galaxy lose 34-41 to Novas after the former lost its way in the second half of the game.
Novas led16-6 at the end of the first quarter and in a second quarter filled with driving layups and blocked shots, Galaxy reduced its deficit to three points (19-22).
Galaxy turned the ball over several times in the third quarter and matters worsened when Guard Raymond Affram was ejected early in the final quarter after getting hit with two technical fouls. Novas scored on the ensuing free throws to stretch the lead to 32-23.
Galaxy scored on a drive and Novas big man Mubarak scored four points via tip ins. Mohammed Braimah pumped faked in the paint and kicked the ball out to Rafiq Brimah to drain a three point shot cutting Novas’ lead to right (38-30) with 2:38 remaining.
Novas continued to score after great ball movement. Galaxy’s Mark Noel Tettey scored a wide open three point shot to end the game.
