Bentil gathers rebound against Panathinaikos in Game One
Panathinaikos Coach Rick Pitino has complained about fans smoking in arenas during games in the Greece A1 Basketball League.

He made the complaint as his side prepares to play Ghana Forward Ben Bentil’s Persiteri GS in the semifinals of the ongoing playoffs.

Panathinaikos beat Peristeri 91-68 in Game One with Bentil scoring 19 points and adding 14 points in 29 minutes as the starting Small Forward.

Game Two takes place on Saturday, June 1 with Panathinaikos needing another win to progress to the finals in the best of three game series.

In a chat with ESPN prior to the big game, Pitino said, “It’s extremely self-centered and selfish of people…I smoke cigars on a golf course, but there’s nobody else around. But you’re in an arena, and 10,000 are smoking and the players are choking.”

The former University of Louisville Coach further described the atmosphere in games as “awful”. In his first playoffs since turning pro in 2016, Bentil has cored in double digits in all four games played so far.
