Ben Bentil’s rich vein of form continues in the Greece A1 Basketball League playoffs but after leading Peristeri GS past the first round, his efforts fell way short in a big loss on Wednesday evening.
Peristeri GS lost 68-91 to Panathinakos in Game One of the semifinal playoff matchup between the teams in the best of three game series.
The Ghana Forward tallied 19 points in 29 minutes as the starting Small Forward and added 14 rebounds recording another double double in the postseason.
Playing in his first postseason in his professional career, Bentil has performed very well scoring double digits in all four games played thus far.
In the loss to the Rick Pitino led Panathinaikos side, Bentil had an assist on a night he had attempted 18 shots in total.
The 6 foot 8 inch player converted nine of 18 shots making four of 12 field goal attempts, two of three free throw attempts and scoring all three attempts from three point range.
Thomas DeShaun led all players in scoring with 21 points. Game 2 takes play on Saturday.
