Nigeria’s Men’s Senior National Basketball Team Shooting Guard Jordan Nwora is hopeful D’Tigers will perform well in this year’s World Cup.

The 2019 FIBA World Cup takes place in China from August 31 to September 15 with 32 nations competing and USA as defending champions.

Nigeria is one of five African countries set to compete in Asia later this year and as the 2015 continental champions, a lot is expected from the West African power house.

About to compete in its third World Cup, 20 year old American born Nwora is looking on the bright side as Nigeria prepares to play Argentina, South Korea and Russia at the preliminary stage.

“I am hopeful that we will be able to do great things in the World Cup and bring some wins home to Nigeria…Our goal is to be one of the countries on the medal podium at the end of the tournament he said.

Nwora could be drafted into the NBA next month after playing two years at University of Louisville. His father Alex, is coaches D’ Tigers.
