Monaco Shooting Guard Billy Yakuba Ouattara scored a team leading 18 points helping his side clinch a 90-62 lopsided win over Limoges in the first round of the French Basketball League playoffs.

Ouattara scored 18 points in the win that sealed Monaco’s progression to the semifinals of this season’s playoffs. Monaco swept the best of three game series.

Yakuba came off the bench and torched Limoges from the free throw line while adding four rebounds and a steal in 24 minutes.

The 27 year old scored five of six attempts from the charity stripe, three of six attempts from three point range and two of four field goal attempts.

Ouattara’s scoring mark was just a point short of Limoges’ Jordan Taylor game leading 19 points. Aside Taylor, Limoges had just Howard William score in double figures.

Thanks to Ouattara’s heroics, Monaco will play the winner of the Strasbourg-Dijon series on June 1. Yakuba was born in Tepa, Ghana before moving to France and representing France at the juvenile and senior levels.
