Primeiro do Agosto took advantage of playing in front of its vociferous crowd to clinch a record ninth FIBA Africa Basketball League (AfroLeague) title.

Agosto beat then defending champions AS Sale from Morocco 83-71 to win the continental title in Angola’s capital, Luanda over the weekend.

On the individual level, Agosto had a successful run as Veteran Forward Eduardo Mingas and Guard Manny Quezada made the All Tournament Team.

The list was completed by James Justice Jnr. of Egyptian side Smouha SC, Soufiane Kourodu from AS Sale and Abderrahim Najah also from Sale.

Mingas averaged 21 points and 11.5 rebounds in the 86-76 semifinal game win over Smouha SC and the 12 point win over Sale.

Unsurprisingly, he was named Most Valuable Player and was the top rebounder across the two games; this is Mingas second MVP title in the competition known previously as Africa Club Champions Cup.

Justice averaged 22 points in the Final Four and Quezada was an offensive spark plug for Agosto.
