Adabraka CYO competed in the last of three Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I games played at the Prisons Court in Cantonments earlier tonight.
However, CYO scored the biggest win of the round by beating home side Reformers of Prisons 72-59 in a largely exciting game that soured towards the end due to over aggressive play especially from Prisons.
Reformers trailed for the entirety of the game but closed the deficit late on in the game and almost scaled it down to single digits but CYO held on for the win.
In the Women’s Division, Grace Yinamyah led Ghana Air Force to record an impressive 36-28 win over a resilient Tudu Galaxy side.
Yinamyah’s five point run midway through the final quarter and a couple of buried free throws proved crucial in putting away Galaxy for good. After trailing 2-8 in the first quarter, Galaxy improved in the second half and reduced the deficit to two (24-26) at the end of the third quarter.
In the first game, Ada Knights committed mistakes down the stretch to lose 54-59 to Junior Reformers in the Men’s Division II.
