French-Ghanaian born Shooting Guard Yakuba Ouattara scored 13 points helping Monaco clinch a big win over Limoges in the first game of the first round of the French Basketball League playoffs.
Monaco scored a 93-73 win over Limoges to take an early lead in the playoffs. The 27 year old added three rebounds, an assist and a block in 24 minutes off the bench for the win.
The former Long Island Nets-the Gatorade League affiliate of NBA side Brooklyn Nets- played an efficient game converting six of nine shot attempts.
He scored one of three field goal attempts, three of four attempts from three point range and converted two free throw attempts.
Ouattara averaged 11 points in the regular season as Monaco finished in second place behind ASVEL. Teammates Dee Bost and Gerald Robinson scored 17 and 15 points respectively.
Limoges’ Axel Bouteille led the game in scoring after draining 20 points in the 20 point loss for his side. Ouattara was born in Tepa in Ghana before moving to France with his parents.
He has represented France at the Under 20 level and the Senior Team.
