Bentil slams ball in Game One.

Ghana Forward Ben Bentil is in line to compete in Game 2 of the Greece A1 Basketball League first round later today after an impressive showing in Game One.

The 6 foot 8 inch player scored 14 points in Persiteri GS 84-81 win over Ifestos in the first round of games in the playoffs.

Due to controversial issues that affected the last round of games in the regular season, Peristeri moved up to second place in the standings after finishing the season in fourth place.

This is down to Olympiacos decision to withdraw from the league and forfeited its playoff game against bitter rival Panathinaikos.

However, in his first game in the playoffs since turning pro in 2016, Bentil had a strong showing adding eight rebounds, four steals, a block and two assists in 23 minutes.

While he struggled with his shooting in the game, the 2016 51st overall NBA draft pick’s all round contribution helped Peristeri avoid a shock loss to Ifestos.

Peristeri is in line to meet Panathinaikos in the semifinals.
