Young Boys have clinched the 2018-2019 GSP Basketball League title dethroning last season’s winners Suncity Braves in the process.

Clinching the title bookends a wonderful season for the league debutant whose makeup was dominated by players with prior experience in the league.

Young Boys needed to beat fellow league debutant Spartans in the final game of the season to guarantee its place at the top of the ten team standings.

The team did just that beating Spartans 32-10 to move a point clear off Spartans 32 point tally with both teams heading to the game tied on 31 points.

Boys’ season ended up with more reward as David Ziem was named Most Valuable Player of the season after a string of impressive play. He led his team with nine points and 10 rebounds in the win over Spartans.

Abdul Latif of Braves won the Young Player of the Season Award. Since the league’s inception in 2016, no team has successfully defended the league title.
