Saints v STU in a previous game.
Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints have had a mixed year experiencing very high points and low points as well.

In this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship, Saints progressed to the quarterfinals of the prestigious tournament for the first time ever.

The Saints beat Sunyani Technical University (STU) to Zone 4’s top spot and secure the sole qualification slot to the national competition.

At the quarterfinal stage, CUCG showed off impressive performances against Koforidua Technical University to clinch its first win at the knockout stage via a 41-34 result but missed the semifinals after losing the remaining pair of games.

However, in the GSP Basketball League, Saints performance has not reached the levels shown at the UPAC Championship all season long.

With just one round left to play in the 2018-2019 season, Saints rank bottom of the ten team standings with nine points from winning just two of 17 games.

The final round takes place on Saturday, May 18 at STU with the title on the line between Young Boys and Spartans.
