2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) games involving some of the biggest names in the league were postponed recently due to bad weather but have been given new dates to have them honoured.
In the Women’s Division, defending league champions Ghana Police Service was set to face bitter rival Braves of Customs at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
In the Men’s Division II, Kaneshie Swanlakers had a big matchup against home side Tudu Galaxy to contend with but the wet court prevented the game from taking place.
Basketballghana.com can confirm both games have been moved to a new date with Swanlakers-Galaxy scheduled for Friday, May 17 at the same venue.
Braves-Police game has been moved to Wednesday, May 22 at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in the first big clash of the new season.
Ghana’s capital, Accra was hit by a heavy downpour on Wednesday and affected the league venue’s unroofed edifice that forced the games to be cancelled.
Such postponements are quite common around this time of the year in the West African nation.
