The anticipated game between Ghana Police Service and Braves of Customs earlier today failed to come off as planned since the Women’s Division game was called off.
The big matchup between defending champions Police and multiple time league winners Braves was called off due to heavy rain that battered the court.
Much of Ghana’s capital, Accra was affected by the downpour and league venue Lebanon House Court in Tudu was not spared from the rain.
The wet conditions rendered the beaten up surface not safe to play on despite the rains seizing for several minutes after players arrived to play.
Basketballghana.com can confirm Braves were willing to play but Police were not interested in playing at a delayed time and the game was subsequently called off.
The new date for the game has yet to be decided by the league board. The Men’s Division II game between Kaneshie Swanlakers and Tudu Galaxy was also affected.
The matchup was expected to be honoured immediately after Braves-Police game.
