A poor start from Ghana Police Service played a major role in the team’s latest loss in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I.
Police lost 47-64 to Kawukudi Warriors in the past round of league games played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu this past weekend.
While matter were close in the third quarter before Warriors run away to clinch the win latter in the final quarter, Police surrendered a 5-22 first quarter loss to Warriors.
Warriors jumped off to an 8-0 lead in the opening minutes of the game and went on another scoring run after Police got on the board to lead 22-2.
Police veteran Guard Jephter Addo scored late on in the quarter with a deep three point shot give his side a strong finish to the quarter.
Warriors did just enough to avoid falling behind as Police came on strong in the second and third quarters getting points from Guards Elvis Pobi-Siaw and Benjamin and Forward Jeffrey Abakisi; the latter duo provided a spark off the bench.
Police record in the 2019 season stands at two losses in three games.
