Ghana Navy has clinched a second straight win in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division thanks to a 34-25 result against Ghana Air Force. The game was played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
Grace Yinamyah scored four of Airforce’s eight points in the first quarter. Selina Quaye scored after gathering a rebound off her missed shot. Kelly Johnson drained two long jump shots to give Navy a 9-8 first quarter lead.
Cynthia Sossavi stole the ball and assisted 7’s fastbreak layup to extend Navy’s lead. In a low scoring quarter Air force trailed 10-12.
Juliana Cudjoe completed a three point play after a five point run from teammate Maria Mensah including a three point shot. Cudjoe scored a three point shot to give Navy a 27-12 lead with 2:57 remaining in the third quarter.
Yinamyah scored one of two free throws and added a layup to end Air Force’s scoreless run after missing several shots. Johnson scored late in the third quarter to give Navy a 31-16 lead.
Airforce scored seven points in the fourth quarter with a three pointer coming from Yinamyah as Navy clinched the nine point win.
