Ghanaian NBA prospect Derrick Quansah will feature prominently in the Class of 2020 recruits rather than the 2019 Class.
This is due to the Ghanaian’s decision to have a year of Prep School before enrolling at East Carolina University after committing to play for the Pirates.
The 6 foot 11 inch native of Cape Coast is with Village Christian Academy in Fayetteville, North Carolina and will spend a year with Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia.
Before committing to East Carolina, Quansah had scholarship offers from Old Dominion University, South Carolina Upstate and was drawing interest from University of Connecticut.
Explaining the reason behind his decision to 247sports, Quansah pointed out the need to gain more experience in the sport.
“I have a lot to learn as a player and if prep can help me develop as a player then I think I will go for it since I have only played the game for three and half years” he said.
The 2020 class is shaping up nicely for Ghana with Ebenezer Dowuona in the fray for a major program.
