Tunisian Basketball giant ES Rades has missed out on another chance to clinch a title in the 2019 season after falling to US Monastir in the Tunisian League Finals Series.
Rades lost 73-79 in Game 4 of the best of five game series handing Monstir its first league title since 2005 and a revenge win after falling twice in back to back years in cup competitions to Rades.
Missing out on the league title represents another title lost following Rades’ exit from the FIBA Africa Basketball League (AfroLeague).
Rades exited at the quarterfinal stage following close losses to local rival JS Kairouan in two legs; JSK clinched a 75-74 win in the second leg to progress.
Kairouan plays defending champions AS Sale from Morocco while Smouha SC from Egypt plays Primeiro do Agosto from Angola in the semifinals from May 24-26 in Luanda, Angola.
Rades however, has its last chance to end the season with a title as the club prepares to play Monastir in the Tunisian Cup final on May 11.
