Former Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I standout Romeo Enan has expressed his happiness over US Monastir’s Tunisian Basketball League title win.
Monastir clinched its first league title since 2005 after beating rival ES Rades 79-73 in Game 4 of the 2019 Finals Series. The win secured Monastir a 3-1 lead in the best of five games series.
After missing on titles due to losses to Rades inconsecutive years, Monastir finally got the better of Rades ahead of the Tunisian Cup final between the two foes on Saturday, May 11.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com in an exclusive chat, Enan who played in the Tunisian league this past season with Dalia Sport Grombalia was happy to see Monastir end the losing run.
“Am happy for them winning the title, because last year they missed it against Rades. So it was like a revenge and they really did well” he said.
6 foot 10 inch Ivorian Center Enan starred for Braves of Customs in the ABL before moving to Nigeria and Tunisia. He won Tertiary Player of the Year at the 2015 Ghana Basketball Awards.
