Kaneshie Swanlakers and Adenta Leopards have registered their first wins in the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division.
Swanlakers beat Novas 72-49 in the Men’s Division II while Adenta Leopards recorded a 73-57 win over home side Reformers of Prisons in midweek games played on Wednesday, May 1.
Kaneshie based Swanlakers had not featured in this year’s Division II competition prior to yesterday’s matchup but made a good impression in its first appearance of the season.
Adenta Leopards had to wait for a while before grabbing its first win after losing narrowly to Braves of Customs in its 2019 debut.
Leopards made a comeback from 19-26 at the end of the first half to close the deficit to three (42-45) at the end of the third quarter before taking the lead.
An improved shooting performance in the fourth quarter got Leopards the game’s leads early en route to the 16 point win over Reformers.
Leopards finished in second place in the 2018 season.
