Francophone Stars have moved to fifth place in the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League standings after clinching its first win in the new season.
2018’s Bronze medal winners beat Teshie Rangers 38-25 in the previous round in a game where the last four minutes was played since rain forced the original scheduled matchup to end prematurely.
Stars have a win and a loss in two appearances this season same as Rangers who rank eighth behind Community 4 and Community 2.
Following a 42-32 win over Tema Rockets for its second win in three games, Sakumono Titans stay in second place behind league leaders Akatsi Rifles.
Titans fellow debutants, Spintex Knights and Tema Wildcats, faced off in a game both teams competed in looking for their first ever league win in Tema.
Wildcats scored a shock 47-46 win over Knights who paraded big names including reigning Most Valuable Player Award winner Benjamin Omari.
Tema Heat’s poor run at the beginning of the season-two losses in three games-keeps the side in fourth place largely down to having more appearances than a significant half of the league roster. Below is a full breakdown of the standings:
