Brong Ahafo Basketball Association (BABA) Chairman Edward Twum Anane has given a three year timeline for the construction of ten basketball courts in newly created regions in Ghana.
Three new regions-Bono, Bono East and Ahafo-were created out of the Brong Ahafo Region and specific areas have been earmarked for major construction.
In the same vein, Anane sees it as an opportunity to build more basketball courts in that part of the West African nation to boost the growth of basketball in the area and Ghana in all.
Despite having a passionate fan base, inadequate and poor courts have hampered efforts to take basketball in the hitherto Brong Ahafo Region to the next level.
Constructing the courts in three years alleviates such problems and per Citizen Times, the regional head is serious about tackling ancillary problems such as coaching and officiating.
BABA has overseen the growth of the GSP League in Sunyani since its inception in 2015. The league has ten competing in the 2018-2019 season.
