Nike Youth Ambassador and Media sensation Jahlil “Jah Swish” Owusu talked basketball and his project to help encourage young individuals to play the sport on Kwese Free Sports morning show “Headstart” earlier today.
Flanked by father, James Owusu and DC Dynamics Basketball Program Head Coach Feranmi Olulonyo, the trio touched on a wide range of issues in basketball.
10 year old Jahlil rose to prominence after starring in a commercial with Boston Celtics Point Guard Kyrie Irving in a Nike commercial and is in Ghana to donate Nike sneakers to young individuals.
His father James stated the initiative is part of a well thought out plan to get as many children to play basketball as possible.
“What we are doing, why we are is giving back…Nike sent at least like 200 products, 40 sneakers and 40 balls to just give out to these kids. He is going to be starting his Non Profit Foundation it’s going to be called (Jah’s Wish) Foundation and for that every year we will be here” James stated.
